traded endowment plans - identify yourself
Identify Yourself
Traded Endowment Plans
The traded endowment market is booming and so many new plans are emerging that it is difficult to
keep track of all the details.  The answer is here - a
comparison guide, outlining the most relevant points of
each plan to help you select the best for you.
Are you prepared to identify yourself?
I see written so many times that they are all scams and they will never pay out.  My response is 'let
the losers lose !'.  It is known with some certainty now that there are some very well connected
financial consultants involved in some of these companies, but that they maintain a high degree of
confidentiality with their clients.

The rules and criteria established by the regulatory authorities and the insurers to operate one of
these TEP projects are very strict indeed.  Probably the single most important aspect is the number
of contracts required for completion.  If the original contract is established for the sale of 50,000
policies and and only 49,999 people fulfill their requirements to provide the necessary identity
documents, then the project fails.

Give this some thought then before joining any plan.  Are you prepared to present identity documents
in order to receive payment?  If you are not then don't join.

When filling in your personal profile, give accurate information.  Some people think they can make up
something and get away with it.  This is a legal contract you are entering!

For a policy to be created it must be assigned to an identified entity of known age.  When you
re-assign the policy to the issuing company, they have then legitimately 'purchased' the policy and
can resell it.  Otherwise these companies could just create aged policies whenever they wished.
......and that would be naughty of them wouldn't it?

Finally, don't bombard the poor staff with unnecessary emails.  Personally managing an email
support department for a company, I know the situation.  Some people submit dozens of requests
and keep resending them in the belief they will receive an answer.  I am more likely to ban their email
addresses and if I receive any abuse or threats then I request their accounts are frozen or deleted.
Be a little considerate and know that your request is being dealt with.

TEP's are extremely risky. DO NOT join them
if you cannot afford to lose the money!
